Mr Gibb began his independent private practice in the mid 1990’s leaving the health service at the end of 1999. Initially he set up a small practice based in St Johns Wood. He then moved to larger premises in Harley Street in 2003 where his practice has expanded and continues to flourish.
The Birth Company is known for its Care for Women, and offers a wide range of complimentary services alongside the consultant lead care.
Mr Donald Gibb was born and educated in Scotland graduating in medicine from Edinburgh University in 1974. He undertook training in Obstetric and Gynaecology at Kings College Hospital, London gaining further experience in Africa and Singapore. He became a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1980 when he was awarded the Gold Medal for taking first place in his speciality examination. He became a member of the Royal College of Physicians in 1981.
Mr Gibb received his doctorate in 1991 for research on labour and delivery conducted in Singapore. For many years he was lead Obstetric Consultant at Kings College Hospital where he became Director of Women’s Services and then Head of Undergraduate Teaching. He has acted as an expert witness for many years and was a founding member of the Expert Witness Institute in 1997.
