East Meets West
On Thursday December 7th 2006 Naturechild hosted an evening reception and exhibition at the Royal College of Physicians, for the obstetric and fertility communities of both Chinese and Western medicine to gather and meet each other.
This reception was held in light of the forthcoming regulation of Chinese Medicine by the Department of Health in 2009.
There is an ever increasing demand for the support that Acupuncture and Chinese herbs bring to fertility and obstetrics. We want to help gynaecology, ART and maternity units throughout the UK to feel confident about referring to well qualified practitioners.
The exhibition was developed to introduce the professional structure and research capacities of acupuncture in the UK. There is a need for development of more robust research into the efficacy and effectiveness of acupuncture in fertility and obstetrics, and this reception was an opportunity to help expand towards a more integrated approach to well structured research.
