Our Approach to Acupuncture Treatment

The Naturechild approach to acupuncture treatment:

In the first consultation there is a comprehensive history taking including a light physical examination and treatment. This session is 1 1/2 hours.
Subsequent treatments are 45 min to 1 hr.

Acupuncture is a process, and we recommends that you come for the consultation and then 2 follow up treatments, making 3 consecutive weekly sessions to start.

This will give you the best opportunity to feel how the acupuncture is helping you, and this will give us the opportunity to develop a more robust understanding of your situation and your Chinese diagnosis. After these 3 sessions we will then help to build a treatment plan which is specific to your needs and to your diagnosis.

All our practitioners use many different techniques and practices in a very gentle style. We are able to adapt the approach to treatment according to your needs. 

We work with many practitioners from across the complementary and western spectrums: knowing when and where to refer, to help ensure the right combination of treatment for the best possible outcome. Naturechild's work is about helping people to find the right balance; in treatment, in diet, and in lifestyle, to suit each individual's particular needs. 

Our training is in the 5 Element tradition and also in the TCM style. These two approaches form the basis of our theory of practice. Jani has also had extensive study in Japanese acupuncture techniques, a very gentle approach to acupuncture treatment, particularly suited to those who are concerned about needles, and is very nice for children and those who rend to have sensitive responses to treatment. 

All naturechild practitioners have undertaken Western training in the physio/pathologies of gynaecology and obstetrics and are very familiar with the western treatments and protocols used in Obs & Gynae.
